Did you know?

  • The ring-tailed lemur is a prosimian or lower order primate. They are recognizable by their long black and white ringed tail.
  • Lemurs use their hands and feet to move nimbly through the trees. However, unlike many other primates their tails are not prehensile and cannot grasp things.
  • Ring-tailed lemurs love to bathe in the sun and are sometimes called “sun worshipers” as they will sit upright with eyes closed and their hands and palms up.
