This year, EARTH Ltd. offered a VIP experience, including an encounter with our white rhinos, Thelma and Louise.

Animal educator, Derek Silva, showing off one of our animal ambassadors.

Dr. Kelly George, the Executive Director of ZAA (Zoological Association of America) and managing partner of the KUZO group, was the special guest speaker at this year’s event. She spoke about the not-for-profit charity in South Africa, Worth Wild Africa. WWA which supports projects that research, monitor, and conserve African wildlife.

Rhino populations are severely impacted by poaching. This has led to the decline of many rhino species, including black, Javan, and Sumatran rhinos. The western black rhino and northern white rhinos have recently become extinct in the wild.

WWA donations go directly to fieldwork and projects with the local community, which includes the prevention of poaching through rhino dehorning. Rhino losses from poaching have drastically decreased due to the dehorning projects that WWA has helped support. In one reserve rhino losses came down from 38 killed in one year to none in 2022.
