Southwick’s Zoo will open an hour early on select days for guests looking for a sensory-friendly opportunity to visit the zoo and enjoy a quieter atmosphere and environment.

Southwick’s Zoo has partnered with the Autism Alliance of Metrowest to help us better accommodate guests with sensory processing needs and to provide a welcoming and inclusive experience for guests of all abilities.

Sensory-friendly dates for early park access:

Friday, May 12 at 9:00 am
Friday, June 16 at 9:00 am
Friday, July 7 at 9:00 am
Friday, August 18 at 9:00 am
Friday, September 15 at 9:00 am

Sensory Bags

Available at the Guest Services window. Visitors can borrow a sensory bag which includes: an ID badge/sticker, lanyard, noise-canceling headphones, sunglasses, water timer, squishy toy, grip stick, and social story booklet.
