Everyone loves baby animals! Sunday, July 16 is our annual ZooBabies Day. We use this event to highlight and educate our visitors about the season’s newest arrivals. We will have birth certificates posted around the zoo for each baby, and we will also have baby animal themed activities for children.
We have A LOT of new babies this year including:
- Aoudads (Barbary sheep)
- Ring-tailed lemurs
- Red-ruffed lemurs
- Scimitar horned oryx
- Patagonian cavy
- Patas monkey
- Grivet monkey
- Schmidt’s guenons
- Jacob sheep
- Red Kangaroo
- Fallow Deer
ZooBabies Day Schedule
10:30am-4:00pm – Meet the Baby Animal at the Zoo Crew Stage
Our docents will have a few of our baby education animals at the Zoo Crew stage for visitors to view and learn about.
12:45pm – Story Time at the Zoo Crew Stage
We’re going to read an eggstraordinary story time book called An Egg is Quiet by Dianna Aston at the Zoo Crew stage!
1:30pm – Baby Themed Presentation at the EARTH Discovery Center
Don’t miss this baby animal themed presentation at the EARTH Discovery Center (located near the chimp habitat). Visitors will be able to see some of our baby animal ambassadors that aren’t on display in the zoo.
*Event takes place during normal zoo hours of 10:00am-5:00pm. Event is included with admission at no additional cost.
