If you plan on visiting our zoo in September or October, please be aware that our adult male fallow deer have been moved to a separate, off exhibit portion of the Deer Forest. This is the time of year they begin to shed the sensitive velvet on their antlers, and they are often more easily startled during this time. We move them towards the end of August each year for the safety of our visitors as well as the other deer. They will rejoin the rest of the deer after the zoo closes for the 2017 season. The final day of our 2017 season will be October 31st. The females and younger deer are still in the forest, however they may feed a little less.
Thank you for understanding!
