Hi everyone, we have one final update regarding our opening:
We will open as planned on Saturday, April 7th, however please remember that April 7-13 will be a soft opening with limited operations.
Due to the recent cold weather, and for the health and safety of the animals, our keepers will need to wait a little longer than planned to move certain species (smaller primates, tropical birds, tortoises, etc.) to their outdoor habitats. Please also keep in mind that if it is particularly cold and/or rainy, animals that are on exhibit in the zoo still have the option to stay in the housing attached to their enclosures. Rides and many attractions will not be available until mid to late April.
Larger animals will be out (weather permitting) including lions, tigers, camels, rhinos, etc. Galliford’s Restaurant & Tavern and The Purple Peacock Gift Shop will be open, however smaller food venues and gift shops will not be open during our first week. Visitor favorites including the Deer Forest, Petting Zoo, and the indoor Reptile, Amphibian, and Invertebrate exhibit will be open.
Thank you for understanding, and we apologize for the inconvenience!
Opening Week Offer
Since we will have limited operations, we are still offering a special discounted rate to those eager people who want to visit us early! Admission will be $15 (children ages 2 and under will be free as usual) from April 7, 2018 until Friday, April 13, 2018. This discount will only be available for tickets purchased at the zoo’s admissions and cannot be applied to pre-purchased tickets (tickets purchased online, from libraries, etc.). We DO NOT recommend using tickets purchased online (particularly combo admission tickets) during our first week open.
