Adopt an Animal

The ‘Adopt an Animal Program’ is a satisfying and creative way of contributing to a long-lasting investment in conservation, education, and animal welfare. Southwick’s Zoo offers approximately 30 animals for adoption with adoption donations ranging from $100.00 – $200.00. The animals that are adopted from the ‘Adopt an Animal Program’ remain at the zoo in the care of professional staff, no ownership rights are conferred. Anyone can adopt an animal for a period of one year, including, individuals, schools, classrooms, scouts, families, businesses, and organizations! When you adopt an animal, your contribution goes directly toward your adopted animal’s care, enrichment, breeding program, and other necessities your animal may need.

There are many kinds of animals to choose from including birds, reptiles, monkeys, big cats, dromedaries, and much more! When you adopt an animal, you become part of a group of wonderful people who provide special support to Southwick’s Zoo and Earth Ltd. More than one parent may adopt an animal. Adoptions are for the species of animals, not an individual animal.

Those who choose to take part in the ‘Adopt an Animal Program’ become a ‘Zoo Parent.’ This means that you have generously contributed to Southwick’s Zoo and our conservation mission. Benefits include an Adoption Certificate, zoo fact sheet on your adopted animal, and 2 individual general admission tickets to the zoo. The biggest benefit of all is the satisfaction of knowing that your contribution is directly helping Southwick’s Zoo provide the best possible care for your adopted animal.

Note:  Animals may be adopted by more than one parent.  When you adopt an animal, you will be adopting the species of the animal, not an individual animal.  Zoo animals, like all living things, are subject to change; they may become ill, die, or be moved to another zoo.  If any of these things occur, your adoption will be transferred to another animal.  Animals remain at the zoo in the care of professional staff, no ownership rights are confirmed.
