Did you know?

  • Red Ruffed Lemurs are one of the largest primates in Madagascar. They are herbivores and eat fruit (particularly figs), nectar, pollen, and leaves.
  • These lemurs spend much of their time grooming. Their lower incisor is a “tooth comb” used to help with cleaning. The second toe on each foot is also longer and is used for grooming purposes.
  • All lemurs are Prosimians. This word means “before apes”.
