All positions require working weekends and holidays. Seasonal positions are not full time. Schedules vary weekly and we cannot guarantee set hours and days.

Available Seasonal Positions
Kiddie Ride Operator (18+)
Note: Kiddie Ride Operators work with our mechanical kiddie rides, and this position does not include the Skyfari Ride, zipline, pony rides, or camel rides.
Kiddie ride applicants must be safety conscious and enjoy working with the public, particularly children. This position requires a positive and upbeat demeanor while providing a safe and respectful environment for all visitors. Applicants must also be comfortable working outdoors and able to work on his or her feet for extended periods of time. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Zipline Operator (18+)
Employees in this position operate our Soaring Eagle Zipline ride. Prior experience with ride operation is preferred, but we are willing to train. Zipline operators must be friendly, safety conscious, and comfortable interacting with zoo visitors. Applicants must be able to work on their feet, outdoors for extended periods of time. Applicants must also be able to bend frequently, so this position is not recommend for those with any back issues. Zipline operators may also work with our Skyfari Ride. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Skyfari Operator (18+)
This position includes both operation and maintenance of our Skyfari ride. Applicants must have experience with machinery and some mechanical knowledge. Applicants must be comfortable interacting with visitors and have the ability to work quickly and safely with others in a supervisory capacity. This position may require early mornings and working outdoors for extended periods of time. Skyfari operators may also work with our Zipline ride. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Retail team members work in the gift shops and ride sales booths within the zoo and provide our guests with exceptional customer service as they assist with their purchases. Responsibilities include handling cash, operating POS terminal, keeping gift shops clean and organized, stocking and displaying merchandise, and answering visitor questions. Applicants must have strong customer service skills. Applicants must also be comfortable working outdoors and able to work on his or her feet for extended periods of time.
Admissions team members assist our visitors with their entry into the zoo. They process ticket sales, answer visitor questions, and serve as the zoo’s ambassadors. Admissions team members are expected to answer questions about all areas of the zoo, direct visitors to different locations within the zoo, resolve customer conflicts, provide guests with information about daily shows, events, zoo rules, and other pertinent information, and ensure that visitors have an overall positive experiences. Strong customer service skills are a must, and applicants must be friendly, courteous, and upbeat. Applicants must also be comfortable working outdoors and able to work on his or her feet for extended periods of time.
Parking attendants assist guests with parking their vehicles in a safe and organized manner. Job responsibilities include directing vehicles (including school buses) to park in the appropriate areas, directing traffic as guests cross the street, maintaining a safe environment for both drivers and pedestrians, keeping parking lots clean and free of litter, and assisting in other areas of the zoo as needed. Applicants must be comfortable working outdoors and on their feet for extended periods of time. Applicants must be friendly and positive as well as comfortable speaking to the public.
Additional Seasonal Positions
Custodians are responsible for cleaning and maintaining the zoo’s grounds. They help provide a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our visitors. Responsibilities will include cleaning restrooms, restocking supplies, picking up and disposing of trash, sweeping and mopping floors, and other assigned tasks. Applicants must be able to follow oral and written instruction. Applicants must also be comfortable working outdoors, able to work on his or her feet for extended periods of time, and able to comfortably lift up to 50lbs.
This is a seasonal position for now through October. We are looking for applicants with weekday and weekend availability from morning to mid-afternoon. Applicants 18 years+ preferred.
Petting Zoo Attendant (18+)
Petting zoo attendants assist with the cleaning of our petting zoo area and with the feeding of our petting zoo animals. Petting Zoo attendants also interact with and educate our visitors. Attendants are expected to learn and enforce all petting zoo rules in order to maintain a safe environment for both visitors and the animals. Applicants must be able to lift 50 lbs, work in an enclosed environment, work long periods outdoors, and be exposed to allergens such as hay and alfalfa. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Pony Ride Attendant (18+)
Pony Ride Attendants assist with the zoo’s pony ride attraction. Attendants are responsible for lifting child onto the saddle, explaining and enforcing ride rules, and keeping the pony ride area clean. Attendants are expected to help maintain a safe environment for both the visitors and the animals. Applicants must be comfortable interacting with children and adults. Applicants must be able to lift 50 lbs, work in an enclosed environment, work for long periods outdoors, and be exposed to allergens such as hay and alfalfa. Prior experience with horses is preferred. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Food Service Team Members & Food Service Supervisors
Food Service team members work in our numerous concession stands. Job duties include food preparation, cooking, cashiering, and cleaning. Food Service employees are also expected to answer visitor inquiries about all areas of the zoo. Applicants must have strong customer service skills and be comfortable working in a fast paced and demanding work environment. Applicants must also be willing to comply with all safety and health regulations.

Birthday Party Host/Hostess
Birthday Party Host/Hostesses assist families with celebrating their children’s birthday parties at the zoo. Responsibilities include setting up/breaking down parties, checking in guests, processing payments, and becoming familiar with all aspects of the birthday party packages available at the zoo. Applicants should be fun, outgoing, and enjoy working with children. Weekend availability is required as most parties fall on weekends.
Elkhorn Mine Attendant
This position involves stepping back in time to assist families with our mining attraction. Mine staff sell the mining experience, assist guests while entering the mine to obtain rough, and instruct guests on how to sift their rough in the sluice. Elkhorn mine staff also performs simple upkeep of the mine and sluice. Applicants must have strong customer service skills, cash handling skills, and an upbeat and enthusiastic demeanor. Applicants must also be comfortable working outdoors and able to work on his or her feet for extended periods of time. A love of rocks and fossils is also a plus!
Gardening employees maintain all garden areas within the zoo and assist with planting, watering, fertilizing, and cultivating flowers, shrubs, and trees. Gardeners must have prior experience with gardening/landscaping including familiarity with the methods, tools, and equipment associated with the job. Applicants must be comfortable working outdoors for extended periods of time.
